It is a powerful shift when you move from counting your own trophies to celebrating the victories of those you’ve helped along the way.
Early in my professional career, I used to judge success almost entirely by my own wins, specifically the goals I hit and the milestones I reached. But as time has gone on, my perspective has changed. Today, I mostly define success by the success of others I have been fortunate enough to help or mentor.
There is a unique kind of fulfillment that comes from playing a small part in someone else’s “big moment.”
Here is a simple challenge for you: Start tracking these moments in your journal. Write down the names of the people you’ve encouraged and the progress they are making. On the days when you feel stuck or uninspired, looking back on those entries is incredibly rewarding. It reminds you that your influence carries weight.
Strive to be legacy minded. When you focus on lifting others as you climb, you aren’t just building a career; you’re building a lasting impact that will outlive any single achievement.
It’s your life, LIVE BIG!
