Keep the wind in your sails by celebrating your daily successes. Taking the time to acknowledge those times in your life when you’ve experienced “wins” is incredibly important.
Friend, doing so builds your belief system — and it’s no secret that what we believe we are capable of accomplishing has a major impact on what we’re willing to try. And of course, what we are willing to attempt ultimately determines what we end up achieving.
A simple exercise for ensuring you give yourself that well deserved “pat on the back” is to take a piece of paper and write down a minimum of 3 things you accomplished. And don’t even try to tell me you can’t come up with three things, because that’s non-sense.
Please understand that I’m not saying they have to be monumental “successes” — anything no matter how seemingly small it may seem counts. The point is to write it down. Perhaps it was the conversation you initiated. The new friend you made. The completion of a paper or report that needed finishing. You name it, write it down.
Once you have written it down just sit with it for a second. Just let it sink in that it counts as a success, a win. Furthermore, consider that because you had success in those three areas, then it is equally true that you can do the same in any given endeavor.
Make a habit of doing this simple exercise and you’ll begin to quickly change your mind set in a positive way. The reason this exercise works is because it opens your mind to the reality that just as you have met with success in the past — so can you expect similar, or better results in your future endeavors.
